Lieutenant Governor Mead Treadwell certifies the Bristol Bay Forever citizens initiative

A few hours ago, Lieutenant Governor Mead Treadwell certified the Bristol Bay Forever citizens initiative. This initiative is an important step in protecting our wild salmon, a renewable resource important to Alaskans. The "Bristol Bay Forever" initiative calls on our state to restrict any new, large-scale mineral extraction project in the Bristol Bay region that would pose a danger to the salmon fishery.
